...as long as you've already unlocked them.
Capping all of the elite skills once on one character was fun.
Capping them all over again with each new character is a chore.

To be honest, I'd love to not even have to pay for the skills once I'd unlocked them, just have them available, but I can't see ANet implementing this any time soon, they're far too obsessed with money sinks...

Not to mention that capping elite skills works towards a title. That title would become meaningless if you could just take one character and buy up all the skills you've already capped with all the others.

I'm thinking this: If one character learns a skill, regardless of weather it's an elite or normal skill, the rest of the characters also learns them.

This would rather achive your goal in a better way don't you think.

...and most likely more level ~9 'exploiters' with mist form or whatever skill in the ascalon arena, low level missions etc. Also how would this fit with making a new character. (like a remake)

I would rather pay more for an elite than go all the way out to Mineral Springs or Lonar Pass to get a skill. Then there is Rof 10th time the charm for that monk elite.

I like my skill capping title on my ranger, and doing this would not make it fun anymore to go into ascalon and be the only one with this title.

Sorry, but I think this is an awful idea, prone to easy abuse. You want a particular elite on additional characters, go and cap it again. It something that you should ahve to earn, not be handed on a platter.

First reaction; no.

Second reaction; if each elite costs 25k...it could work.

Making elite skills so readily available would contradict the concept of an elite skill. Even if you think it's tedious; having to go out of your way to obtain them is part of what makes them truely elite. Also, you say it's tedious to have to get them again; are you using the same build over and over for every character? I for one have a policy of never repeating a class in primary or secondary. And if we're not even charging for skills anymore; everyone may as well just automatically have every skill right when they make a new character. I'd say the existing skill system is perfectly fine.

This has such a large downside (already discussed) I couldnt see it ever happening.
However I would be pleased if they made Signet's of Capture cheaper, since as it is right now, theres absolutely no reason to capture any skill from anything, save for elite skills, since the cost is exactly the same. If SoC cost say, 500g, then some people would use them just to save the money, I know I would. But Im sure this has already been discussed, and tossed aside.

sorry but I had enough with people using Elites in the Ascalon Arena and if you could buy them like such, it's not much of an elite is it?

each character is like starting over a new file, being able to get elite skills that you got on another character would disrupt that idea. Besides, can you not just see all these lvl 1 characters running around with these high level moves and easily achieving the survival title and elite skill hunter title?

You know, if this were any other video game, such an idea would be laughed at. Frankly, we are spoiled to have our skills available for purchase right off the bat in the first place. I suppose it makes sense with the release of new chapters that don't have access to other chapters' skills; makes it less tedious.

To treat elite skills like any other skill doesn't feel right though. And to be honest, it doesn't seem tedious to me. It gives me something to do on all my characters. Nothing in Guild Wars is rare (well, except competent wammos). There's something a little sad about that.

Ok people think about it. If you dont want them available at the beginning then make an elite skill trader that is available and the very end of the game. Problem solved. As for the title...make the title only work if you actually cap the skill instead of buying it. That problem solved. So now whats the next problem?

oh and the trader would only give ones from its own chapter and they would have to be unlocked already.

I'm not seeing any reason for them to be available from any npc(regardless if it's at the beginning or end of the game). The current system of elites from bosses works perfectly fine and there's nothing wrong with it. Lazy people need to stop asking to have everything handed to them.

Well the fact that capping a few of the elites are a total pain the arse. Especially in prophecies since the hench arent as good as in factoins and putting together a capping pug in many areas is worse than henchman. And then sometimes the cap isnt even there so you have to do it again and sometimes again...and again....>.<

I find the hench in Prophecies to be better than Factions. In Factions they don't even give you a protect monk hench til like halfway through the game.
I have every skill for every profession for both campaigns and I got them all with hench. If anyone actually needs a pug to cap any skill; that's just sad.
